Crestone Peak from Crestone Needle Summit
  • Duration 2 Days, 1 Night
  • Overnight Camping
  • Technical Climbing

The Crestone Peak can be climbed via the standard route or the Crestone Traverse

A popular option is the Class 4 Crestone Traverse which tackles both Crestone Peak and Crestone Needle with a technical ridge traverse between them. The route has sustained Class 3 climbing with tricky route finding along the ridge and a final pitch of Class 4 to low Class 5 up the North Ridge of Crestone Needle. The descent is the 3rd Class South Face of the Crestone Needle back down to Broken Hand Pass and South Colony Lakes.
