Clothing

  • Socks: thin socks work best, wool or synthetic
  • Synthetic underwear or briefs: cotton does not dry or insulate when wet
  • Softshell climbing/hiking pants lightweight pants or shorts
  • Synthetic wicking t-shirt
  • Sun shirt: lightweight sun protective long sleeve shirt
  • Warm hat that fits well under a helmet (no pom-pom!)
  • Sun hat
  • Wool or synthetic base layer bottoms
  • Mid-weight / breathable insulating layer: fleece or synthetic
  • Warm insulated parka with hood: a mid weight down or synthetic parka with hood will suffice
  • Lightweight rain pants
  • Hardshell rain jacket
  • Additional light puffy jacket with hood (optional if you easily get cold)
  • Lightweight liner gloves mid weight to thin for colder nights and early mornings
  • Buff or neck/face covering for warmth and sun protection
  • Hiking/alpine Boots: with higher tops and good ankle support, waterproof preferably gore-tex or leather

Climbing Equipment (provided, if needed)

  • Harness
  • Helmet

Misc Personal Items

  • Backpack: 40-45 liter pack is the recommended size
  • Headlamp (bring an extra set of extra batteries)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Personal first-aid / repair kit
  • Camera or Smartphone
  • Water bottle (at least 2 liters); *we do not advise Camelbacks
  • Lunch/Snack food
  • Trekking poles
