An introductory course to help you learn the skills necessary to be confident in venturing into the backcountry on your splitboard. This is a perfect course to prep for or couple with an AIARE Level 1; a stepping stone to get off the resort and into the backcountry. We are psyched to partner with Weston Backcountry on these unique sessions, hosted by our extraordinary splitboard guides that are also Weston riders – Jack Klim, AJ Appezzato, and Sarah MacGregor. Learn the basics of using your equipment and shred some pow with great folks – what more could you want!

PREP+
- Riders should be in good physical condition, and be comfortable on a snowboard; previous experience using a splitboard is helpful but not a must!
- This is a great introduction to taking one of our AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Courses, or follow it up with a private guided backcountry day to get a little more pow-riding and see what amazing terrain the San Juan’s has to offer, with our professional guides.
