Mallorca Climbing Camp

Mallorca Rock Climbing Retreat

  • Duration 7 Days
  • Rock Climbing

Join us on a deep-water soloing, bouldering & rock climbing retreat

Our Co-owner and Head guide Amos Whiting is bringing back his deep water soloing climbing camps in Mallorca.

This amazing climbing retreat trip based on the beautiful Balearic island of Mallorca is the perfect blend of a Spanish island vacation, athletic climbing/bouldering, and a bit of (type 2) fun climbing over the sea. We will be driving to small coves or “calas” and hiking into the climbing venues.

The retreat will be based on a classic Mallorcan Villa near the old fishing town of Porto Colom on the southeast coast of the island. This is centrally located near the best deep water soloing on the island. We will have a blend of home-cooked meals at the villa and sampling local restaurants. Yoga classes will be taught each day before climbing by Alyssa Erdman, professional yoga teacher.

The trip is focused on providing an introduction to the adventure of deep water soloing and how to safely push one’s limits above the sea. This is a great trip for climbers who can consistently top rope athletic mid 5.10 and up or V3 and up. The rock is limestone and a bit of sandstone which means the climbing is steep and athletic. Gym climbers and sport climbers will excel on this trip. You do not need to be an advanced swimmer to participate but a confident swimmer capable of swimming 50 yards in the very buoyant, salty Mediterranean sea.

Join us October 6 – 12, 2024 for this unforgettable trip! The the price for the 2024 trip is $4200. If you would like to avoid fee, please send a check to Aspen Expeditions at 133 Prospector Rd #4115, Aspen, CO 81611.

We are on Spanish time, so after some sleeping in we have a nice breakfast, then a warm up yoga class. We will then make our way to the sea for the first day of deep-water soloing (DWS).  We will be focused on water safety, jumping/falling into the sea, safe exits etc. Dinner in town.

Day two of DWS gets us more mileage on the rock in a new venue. Dinner in town.

Rest day from climbing. We can check out different markets and the old town or Arta. Yoga class, beach and island time. Dinner in town.

Day three of DWS gets us into another new venue and pushes us over the sea in the ultra-classic zone of Cala Barques. Dinner at the Villa.

On the last day of climbing, we will charter a boat to experience the cliffs from a different perspective. Final group dinner at the Villa.

Final day. We will spend some time in the beautiful city of Palma before dropping people off at the airport.
