Gearing up to go Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing Gear List

Climbing Equipment (provided, if needed) 

  • Harness 
  • Helmet 
  • Rock climbing shoes

Clothing 

  • Socks: thin socks work best, wool or synthetic 
  • Bottoms: lightweight pants or shorts (should be comfortable & allow freedom of movement; we  think pants work best to avoid skinned knees, etc. 
  • Top: synthetic or wool t-shirts, tank-tops or long sleeves – preferably no cotton 
  • Rain jacket: a light waterproof jacket, in case of occasional afternoon rain showers Warm layer: remember that temperatures can vary with altitude and shade 
  • Closed-toed hiking/running shoes: please no flip flops, sandals, crocs etc. for hiking into the crag! The trails can be rocky and loose 

Misc Personal Items 

  • Backpack  
  • Sun hat 
  • Sunglasses 
  • Sunscreen and lip balm 
  • Camera or Smartphone 
  • Water bottle (at least 1 liter): *we do not advise Camelbacks 
  • Lunch/Snack food 
  • Personal first-aid kit: for your personal meds/needs
