Chris Trullaz
Meet San Juan Expeditions Guide Chris Trullaz. Chris began his love affair with the outdoors as a young kid in Scouting, learning about camping, backpacking, and rock climbing. Choosing to go to college in Vermont, he quickly discovered the access to these activities only increased as he was introduced to backcountry split-boarding, ice climbing, and instructing others on how to do these safely. After graduating, he headed out West, just like all the other wanderers and dreamers who find the East just a tad too small.
Chris has had the privilege of working in Joshua Tree teaching rock climbing, ski guiding in the Sawtooth Mountains and Yellowstone National Park. Additionally, he has taught mountaineering in the many mountain ranges of Colorado and has explored and adventured in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon, and Costa Rica. Working for the Colorado Outward Bound School for five years, Chris provided life-changing experiences to students from all over the country. Currently, Chris is actively pursuing certification through the AMGA and has completed courses in the Rock, Ski, and Alpine disciplines. He is beyond excited to be back in the San Juans and all they have to offer!
